Most people we speak to have a love hate relationship with Google. One thing for certain is Google has 88.87% of the UK search engine market and has a major impact on all our businesses. Their communications are not as good as their search engine and much of their data is withheld, leaving  marketing professionals to debate and test what works and the impact on Google rankings.

There are some facts which are not disputed, such as Google emulating Amazon, ebay and Trip Advisor to show reviews, which displays your reputation online. Google has been collecting reviews for 3 years from directories, social and other sites, which the majority of people have not heard of.

Why are reviews important:-

  • 92% of people trust recommendations from people we know
  • 72% of buyers trust Reviews as much as personal recommendations
  • 87% of people search online after being referred to a Business and check them out

Google Star ratings are now showing in Organic search, Google Maps listing and paid AdWords, when you have got enough reviews. If you are not monitoring your reviews, when your Star Rating is displayed it may not be what you expect.
